The Gibbons' Family

Leighton has discovered baby dolls and just loves them. She can spend ages sitting and holding them, checking them out and looking them over, lifting up their clothes and patting them. I guess the Mommy gene starts at an early age.

Today was the Open House at Ellis' new preschool (Des Moines Science Center Preschool) she'll start in the fall. It was very exciting for her and she loved it! So much so she ran off to play, not even looking back. my heart is breaking already!. She got to do fun science projects, play with the sand/water table and watch hermit crabs. Then on the way home she picked out a new dinosaur from the gift shop. Dinosaurs are her new favorite thing (I guess as long as she still loves Barbies and Dancing with the Stars I'm ok with it). My good friends from work, Debbie & Keesia. Their kiddos will also be going to school at the Science Center. Debbie's little girl, Addie, will be in Ellis' class. Notice Ellis is missing from the photo--we couldn't pry her away from the sand table.

This was a BIG haircut for Ellis--3" cut off the back into a cute little bob--perfect for summer and those days when we're running late and do not have time for fancy pigtails. Mommy has been playing hair stylist for a few months now with bang trims but decided it was time to see a professional. When Ellis was recently asked how she was going to get her hair cut, she responded "straight" and Mommy has decided she should keep her day job and leave the cuts to Emina.

Lets go back a year...Ellen (with almost Sophie) and Dina (with almost Leighton) at Ellis' 2nd birthday party and 1 week before Leighton made her grand entrance.

Just try and tell me this face doesn't make you smile!

The interesting thing about Leight's hair is it looks a little bit different every day. No day of wacky curls is the same but everyday it is crazy!
