Ellis got her first real haircut on Saturday. She sat very good but didn't much like the hairdryer (she put her face in her hands and laid her head on the tray). She got a pink ribbon for her hair for being good. She now sports a cute little bob (good bye baby mullet!). After the haircut we took her out for lunch.

We had a lovely Father's Day last Sunday. Darren started his special day a bit early with a massage on Saturday. Sunday we had a BBQ at our house and enjoyed the day with my parents and my Gram Hansen. Elli was a big help with the pressies.

Now that I've figured out how easy it is to upload photos to the blog (ahem, I think we all know I'm not the techie one in the family), I can't stop myself. Thought this was a sweet picture of Ellis taken yesterday in the 90 degree Iowa heat (that's just over 32 C). I guess summer is finally here...

Stella

Our beloved dog Stella. Stella has had a hard time adjusting after the move to Iowa. The poor thing has been moved so many times and I think it's getting harder on her the older she gets. In April she was diagnosed with cancer. She had surgery and the vet seemed very positive about the outcome. She and Ellis continue to be best of friends. One of Elli's first words was "Tellie" (before Mama!).

We got Ellis a pair of wellies awhile back and she found them in her closet the other night (mind you, they are about 1-2 sizes to big still). Since she found them, she's wanted to wear them around the house. A new walker in a pair of oversized boots is a hoot to watch.

Hello!

In an attempt to make it easier to keep in touch with family and friends with updates and photos, we've started the Gibbons' family blog. It seems to be the way to go and won't crash my parent's computer!
