Labor Day Weekend

Ahhh, 3 day weekends are the best! We had a Labor Day Weekend (Bank Holiday) with no plans, no where to go and nothing important to do. It was awesome! We did get a lot of home projects done like cleaning out the garage, Darren worked on the basement a bit, I started cleaning out closets and cupboards like crazy, we went out for pizza (we found a great place that has gluten-free pizza AND beer--score!), got the last bits for back-to-school and spent quality time with our girls. Here's a few pics from the weekend:
Life is good...bacon, pj's and swingset.

Ellis helping Mommy make dinner last night. Notice she's wearing her serious apron for cooking and sunglasses to keep onions from making her eyes water.

Fashionably cooking.

This was the toy box from my childhood, covered in a hideous print fabric with green paint (my mom and I can't figure out where this combo came from but is not the original). Anyway, I brought it up from the basement this weekend, painted it and put on new fabric so the girls have a "dress-up clothes box". This is the "before" picture (the extra kids are from my daycare).

This is the "after" pic with new paint and fabric. Finally a place to stuff all the princess dresses, tutus and loads of plastic play shoes.

Ellis was busy building block castles with Daddy.

Taller!

Tallest!! Daddy makes the best castles.
