We just started the biggest project Darren & I have ever taken on in our marriage (well, besides kid 1 & 2). And I probably shouldn't say Darren & I. It's really Darren. I supervise (or like to think I do). Anyway, we have a HUGE basement that's completely unfinished and full of "stuff." Oh, the possibilities!Oh, the work! Last month Darren kicked-off the project with the guest bedroom. When completed, there will be an office/crafty work space, 4th bedroom, a big play room for the kids and a family room complete with Darren's projector TV plus storage. It's coming along quite well and I'm very excited at the prospect of moving ALL the toys downstairs. Here's the progress thus far...
Stage 1: Darren adds the framing for the Guest Bedroom (it's on the left if you can't tell).
We've started calling it, "Nana Gibbons Room'" in anticipation of
Jean's fall visit. I bet she can't wait to stay here :)
Stage 2: We have real walls and a window sill!
Stage 3: Darren has started putting the compound on the walls
prior to sealant/paint. I'm feeling a nice yellow paint color.

Darren & I both took the day off work to take Ellis to her preschool fieldtripto Blank Park Zoo and to celebrate Leighton's birthday. It was a glorious day!
