Anticipating what this whole Easter bunny thing is all about...
Yummy sugar cookies and juice boxes!
Julie Marks, our daycare provider, and her husband Dale throw an annual Easter egg hunt for the kids. It's a very elaborate affair. Usually the Easter bunny makes an appearance (but this year he didn't come as it would scare the pants off the under 2 set) and takes place in their huge acre back yard (but there was a chance for snow so became an inside hunt). Kiley, Abby and Ellis had a great time. The understanding of what they were doing is vague I think, but they thought it was a hoot to find eggs hidden all over (then of course fight over them, check out what the other had in her basket and try to steal it, etc).
Sunday Elli climbed on top of her kitchen set (we're not sure how she got up there or why she choses to climb on top of everything to play) along with her Elmos. For months she's been avoiding the camera, looking away every time the camera was near and making it impossible to get a decent picture of her. Then yesterday, out of the blue, she decided to ham it up for the camera with a super fake smile every time the camera was near.
As some may know, we've finally gotten ourselves motivated to do a few things around our house. I went into full nesting mode last month and decided after 6 months of beige walls, it was time to do some painting and finish some projects we had wanted to get done (knowing full well it probably wouldn't get done post-May for some time and that it would bother me while sitting home for 3 months on maternity leave). Our big project is the unfinished basement that we hope to begin working on next year (which will have a 4th BR, office, playroom and family/movie room). In the meantime, we now have painted walls in several rooms (thank you, Darren! He's been a great sport about all of this!), things for the walls and a totally revamped master bedroom (not pictured quite yet). We've had a few requests to see how things are looking (since most have only seen the builder's photos), so here are a few of the pictures:
Kitchen: Addition of bar stools, blinds and things on the walls!
Kitchen: We're in the process of working on a cornice that will be fitted over the top of the solar blinds on the patio doors.
Ellis and Baby G's bathroom (some have mentioned it looks very "Tiffany blue"--hey, we all get inspired by different things!)
Master Bathroom: Newly painted wine walls (just missing the artwork for the wall which is being framed)
Great Room/Elli's Personal Toyroom (missing from this photo is her tent, cylinder for climbing thru and toys laying all over the place which we picked up for the photo to make it appear like adults live here as well). We haven't done much with this room yet but added paint. We will be putting a big mirror over the fireplace very soon and are working on something for the empty wall on the right.

Kiley, Abby and Ellis at their daycare Valentine's Day party on Thursday. They got to fingerpaint, make heart crafts and eat frosted sugar cookies (which might be why they look a little wired in the photo!). She had a great time!
We have had a blanket of snow drop on us here today, and as soon as Ellis got home she wanted to go outside to play. She likes to eat the snow, and I had to warn to stay away from the "Yellow Snow !!!"
